MGB-027 Battle: Los Angeles

Review of Battle: Los Angeles

More alien movies? Really? Skyline made everyone angry to even think about alien movies and now we get another one...great! Well, those were my initial thoughts, but they were misguided. We will always have horrible movies like Skyline cross our path, but Battle: Los Angeles was not Skyline; it was more Saving Private Ryan meets Blackhawk Down. Join the MacGuffin Brothers as they discuss our next alien adventure on this weeks podcast!

MGB-026 True Grit

Review of True Grit

A remake of a John Wayne movie? John Wayne's only movie to receive an Academy Award? Really? Yep, and they did a fine job too. Quickly stated by the ratings below, this movie was the best movie for 2010. Jeff Bridges will probably get another award for his role as Cogburn and this movie will probably be studied for its amazing enjoyment for years to come. Join the MacGuffin Brothers as they discuss this unusually amazing western on this weeks podcast!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter strikes again, or maybe not. It is interesting that the last movie of the series is 'part one' of the last movie. The spidey sense says someone wants to stretch this ride out as long as we can…or they really do have that much of a story to tell. Before you throw your stones at the MacGuffin Brothers hear them out. They are not avid Harry Potter fans, which doesn't mean Harry Potter isn't fan worthy, they're just not on the band wagon. So they went into this movie from a standard movie critic's point of view, not the Harry Potter fanboy view. Judge if you must, as we did, but be sure to join the MacGuffin Brothers in this weeks episode number 25, Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows!

MGB-024 The Expendables

Salt

Review of Expendables

This is the movie we all wished we could have had in the 80s; Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews (the hilarious Old Spice commercials), and even Eric Roberts (personal favorite "Best of the Best") to saddle up together for an entire movie; well, some more than others, but still they are all here! I think we were only missing Van Damme and Stephen Segal, but….no we're not missing them. Find out this week what the MacGuffin Brothers discovered in this rare jewel on the review of The Expendables!

MGB-023 Review of Salt

Salt

Review of Salt

Originally slated to be a movie with leading man Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie battles her way through this deep deep plot to victory. Sarcasm is difficult to hear in text somedays, so we're obviously joking about the movie being 'deep'. Find out what surprises exist as the MacGuffin Brothers battle out the review of Salt!
