About Us
The MacGuffin Brothers? We'll start with explaining what a MacGuffin really is. A Macguffin is a term invented by the great suspense producer and director Alfred Hitchcock, which stood for the plot element that catches the viewers’ attention or drives the plot of a work of fiction. Or to restate it another way; a macguffin is any element in the movie used to drive the story, but not be defined itself. It might be the secret package that is being smuggled, the stolen necklace, or the mysterious power source discovered (e.g. in District 9 it was the fuel source).. The package, stolen necklace, or power source are in the movie, but do you really need to know what they are, how they work, or where they came from? Not really. You just need to understand that they are there helping drive the real story, the character development and plot lines the writer wishes you to enjoy.
So who are the MacGuffin Brothers?
The MacGuffin Brothers first joined forces in August of 2009. They began their epic journey with their first movie review of 'Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen.' The journey so far has been much more epic than their first movie review.
Mike MacGuffin was an eager, wide-eyed film student in the early 90s, committed to the direct-to-video action genre and avoiding spending eight hours a day in some damned office. He is now married, a father of two, and spends eight plus hours a day in some damned office. Through it all, he never lost his love of film...and of things blowing up
Chuck MacGuffin is your average 'Joe' who just loves movies. His background ranges from avionics technician work to writing the manuals for those airplanes he used to work on now as a technical writer.

About The Rating System
Since you read 'About Us' I'm sure you don't need to understand that there are two of us in this adventure of the MacGuffin Brothers; Chuck MacGuffin and Mike MacGuffin.
Chuck MacGuffin seems to vote more like a typical average Joe who just enjoys movies and doesn't really know all about the wide wonderful world of movie production. Mike MacGuffin however, ranks movies like the guy who knows all about this world of movie production and that is because he was in that great world for awhile and knows all about it. Trust whoever you wish by the star ratings you see, but be sure not to miss the discussions on the podcasts of 'why' they ranked why they did.
